Flat Sarnoff and Patricia's Journey

Hello!!

Sarnoff and I decided to go around Chicago's television filming locations. Here are some of our memories:

Our first stop was the WTTW PBS 11 and / WTTW Way @ 5400 N St.Louis Avenue. Now this is just 6 minutes away from my home. I found it very interesting that it is so close to my house.

Our next stop was the building used for Bob Newhart Show's external shots of Bob's apartment. It was a bit tricky to find parking but we made it! We even meet with flat Farnsworth on our way and he jumped in the pic with us!

The next stop was the Webster house at 1432 North State Parkway. I never watched the show but the house looked amazing and now I am curious about the show! Also looked at things about the house and found out that it was sold for 9.5 million dollars!!

The following location was just around the corner and that was the old Playboy house. There were a lot of people working on the front of the house so we had a bit of trouble taking pictures there.

Our next location was Oprah's Harpo Studios at 1058 W Washington Blvd. Now here we had a lot of trouble finding it! We walked and walked around the building and we could not find it but then we asked and were told it was right behind us!

On our way to the next location we got hit with some rain and my little friend got really wet. Also once we got there we found out the Old Cook County hospital is now under construction but we still managed to get some pictures.

The next location was the The Blackstone Hotel! Here we had some trouble as well as there was someone famous there and there were restrictions to taking pictures. We were encountered by about 6 bodyguards at the entrance who said we could only take a picture with the plaque behind us :( sad but at least we got to see it.

Our last stop was at the Family Matters House. I never watched the show but the house was wonderful, just to find out that the original house was demolished. Sad that they would destroy something that is important for fans of the show.

Well that was the end of our journey. Hope you enjoyed it! We sure did!

Flat Sarnoff, Farnsworth & Quel Horvath Tour Chicago!

Our journey began on the North Side of Chicago at the location in which the Family Matters home once stood. I grew up with Family Matters always being on at my grandparents house. In some ways, the characters remind me of my own family members.

My next stop was the Museum of Broadcast and Communications. This museum has been here for such a long time and I never got a chance to go inside. It is so cool and rich with history on radio and broadcast. Definitely a hidden gem in Chicago.
Ah yes, Playboy Mansion! I've stood outside these gates each summer and imagined what it was like to be inside there back in the day. Rest in peace Hugh Hefner!

Right down the block is the home from the TV show, Webster. I loved watching Webster when I was kid because he was so slick and funny. I look some tricks from him when I felt bold. This house is build so cute. It is so crazy how I never noticed it before!

The Bob Newhart statue was the hardest to find! I walked through the entire pier and garden area looking for it. Real funny, Bob! You jokester. One day I'll write a monolog as good as you.

Our next stop was the Buckingham Place in Grant Park. Married... With Children is still on TV and I still watch it whenever it comes on. The cast is full of amazing, talented, funny actors who I looked up to as a kid. Al Bundy, what a man!
Last stop, Billy Goat Tavern! I have never eaten here but I hear the cheezborger is pretty good. The iconic SNL skit took place at this joint. One day when you see me on SNL, they're gonna somehow find this picture of me. It'll be a full circle. ONE DAY!

Through our journey in Chicago, we visited some of the most iconic places in TV history. We had some laughs and we had some fun all while experiencing two different seasons! First it was fall, now it's summer! Thanks for following!
