Sarnoff and I decided to go around Chicago's television filming locations. Here are some of our memories:
Our first stop was the WTTW PBS 11 and / WTTW Way @ 5400 N St.Louis Avenue. Now this is just 6 minutes away from my home. I found it very interesting that it is so close to my house.
Our next stop was the building used for Bob Newhart Show's external shots of Bob's apartment. It was a bit tricky to find parking but we made it! We even meet with flat Farnsworth on our way and he jumped in the pic with us!
The next stop was the Webster house at 1432 North State Parkway. I never watched the show but the house looked amazing and now I am curious about the show! Also looked at things about the house and found out that it was sold for 9.5 million dollars!!
The following location was just around the corner and that was the old Playboy house. There were a lot of people working on the front of the house so we had a bit of trouble taking pictures there.
Our next location was Oprah's Harpo Studios at 1058 W Washington Blvd. Now here we had a lot of trouble finding it! We walked and walked around the building and we could not find it but then we asked and were told it was right behind us!
On our way to the next location we got hit with some rain and my little friend got really wet. Also once we got there we found out the Old Cook County hospital is now under construction but we still managed to get some pictures.
The next location was the The Blackstone Hotel! Here we had some trouble as well as there was someone famous there and there were restrictions to taking pictures. We were encountered by about 6 bodyguards at the entrance who said we could only take a picture with the plaque behind us :( sad but at least we got to see it.
Our last stop was at the Family Matters House. I never watched the show but the house was wonderful, just to find out that the original house was demolished. Sad that they would destroy something that is important for fans of the show.
Well that was the end of our journey. Hope you enjoyed it! We sure did!
