Flat Sarnoff and Claire take on Chicago!

The first location we drove to was Newton Minow Way at 42 S. Dearborn. Flat and I were a little confused about where this location was exactly since the GPS told us it was that building behind us. This location is named after Newton Minow, he is known for persuading congress to pass a legislation allowing more communication satellites.

The next location we drove to is the Nielson building on 200 W Jackson. This company is most known for its’ TV rating system called Nielson ratings, which measures TV and radio in their markets.

After the Nielson building, Flat and I drove to the Billy Goat tavern. This location is significant to TV because of the famous skit on SNL with John Belushi. I had to stop Flat from going inside for a drink!

The next location we visited was the Playboy mansion on 1340 N State St. Playboy Penthouse was shot and directed by Hugh Heffner at this location in the late 1950s. Today, the house contains around 4-6 very expensive apartments. Flat and I actually met one of the owners!

The next location we visited was just down the street at the house from Webster at 1432 N state parkway. This house is worth almost 10 million dollars and was featured on the sitcom Webster. There are many renovations that have been done to this house and it is still a landmark in the city.

Next, we drove to the Blackstone hotel. This hotel held many functions for politicians and TV events. One famous event was for a movie with Al Capone, which my great-grandfather actually attended (him and Al Capone had a love-hate relationship).

Our final stop was at Oprah Harpo Studios (used to be), which is now Hamburger University. Obviously, many of you know the Oprah show which ended a couple of years ago. After this picture, Flat and I were very hungry and went to Mcdonalds.
